Italy 2011

We had our annual Italy trip, returning to our dear friend's home in Porto Ercole on the Tuscan coast. To say it was an amazing time--the view, the company, the food--is an understatement. We returned last night, so here are a few pictures while we get our feet planted on the ground in DC.

Graham and Julia were sophisticated travelers. They took to the 8 hour flight--9.5 on the return--from DC to Rome with ease. No whining, lots of sleeping, and for a treat--they got to watch the movies offered on the plane. Three truly is a great age...

When I asked Graham his favorite part about being in Italy?

"The food, mommy."

Indeed!

Porto Ercole, on the Tuscan Coast. Our view.

The Margini Villa, at least their 'main house' on their amazing estate in Porto Ercole. There are other buildings on the mega hectare estate--another guest house with numerous bedrooms, terraces, and a vegetable garden, as well as a large olive grove and a huge outbuilding that was formerly part of a farm. The latter will be made into another home.

Life, as ever, was great in Italy. The only tough part is returning home!
