Pre-Inauguration travels

Yesterday and today, Graham and Julia and I walked for a long time around the Capitol, watching all of the people busy at work. Yet one thing is missing: Lines of people waiting to get into the visitor's center! Rumor has it DC is PACKED right now! ha. I didn't see it...the most activity involved trucks driving up and down the Capitol sidewalks, catering to the people planning the event.
Enjoy the photos!

Hey, aren't you that Santa guy? I mean, without the belly?

At Terence's office party, Graham Johnson and Julia Grace were so loved on that Terence and I took a mental 'vacation' from the babies...they were passed up and down a long communal table by the loving people who all work at Chesapeake and Washington Heart Care.

But there was one man, Connor...who resembled someone Graham and Julia had met the day before...You can just see Graham's mind working 'hey, I've seen you before! Where have I seen you? Oh YEAHHHHHHH! Oh, I want a Maserati, OK?"

Here are some shots from the party! There *will be* more on Shutterfly by this weekend, if you hit 'photos' on the website...

Evolving, evolving...

Julia and Graham continue to amaze us.

From reaching, pulling up and crawling...to Graham Bear grabbing Julia's head to take a bite out of it (Mame saved the day...he didn't succeed...I think he assumed Julia's head was one of his yellow or red rubber balls!)...to Julia biting anything and everyone...sigh. We just hope they continue to be contained in their gated community, as we are not ready for them to break loose and wreak havoc on us all!

Cousin Sarah Johnson visited on Saturday, as did their dear Rachelle...who watched over them for months...we hope to see more of both!!!! And, as ever, Mame!

Here is a photo of Sarah Johnson holding Julia...Thank you, Sarah!!! We all loved seeing you!!!

Short...but sweet

Graham and Julia wonder: "Is it really better on the other side?!" They don't know yet though - can't figure out how to climb over...

A very short video, apologies! One of the BEST parts of the day is going in to get Graham and Juila when they are happy as clams and just up from their nap. Smiles galore and the world is good!

I'll hopefully get a better one to post at the end of the weekend! G'day

After the party

Sweet Julia, 9 months and one day old...after we took our New Year's photo by the outdoor Christmas trees...we have one large one, and two small ones for the babies. Julia's probably wondering where else she can wear her lovely holiday dress to!

The babies are fine. Growing too much. Pulling themselves up to a standing position, then falling. A lot. Graham likes to stand up, let go of what he's holding onto, totter for a few seconds, then fall on his butt. He's also a climber...anything will do to get him to his goal...books, blankets, etc. Fortunately he can't bend his leg yet to do any actual climbing.

Julia is still teething like mad...biting every thing (and one!). Oy...At least she has the teeth to show for it...(Graham works so hard at growing teeth, and I can finally see them coming through!)

Cheerios? Graham hasn't taken to his...He looked so insulted tonight when I fed him a Cheerio, that I had to fish it out of his mouth. Julia actually likes Cheerios...but she does have more teeth (and hair).

Good night!

Happy (9 month) birthday!!

It's hard to believe, but today Graham and Julia turned 9 months old...

9 months in (almost), 9 months out...

Julia is sprouting even more teeth -- she bit my neck the other night, my little Draculina -- and the new teeth are obviously causing her discomfort (and those of us who aren't fast enough to get a toe or finger out of her way as she seeks something to bite down on), but she contains it well...it mostly makes her toss and turn during her naps. (Graham, our little Drama King, would let you all hear his pain if he were teething that hard. Ah, our entertaining Graham Graham.)

The babies are beautiful and pulling themselves up, trying to walk along their Gated Community...

We're safe, for now, as they are contained.
For now.
