Each week, the teacher reads a book to the children, practices dance moves, and then dresses the children up in costumes to reflect the books..

Chinese New Year

We went to Chinatown for the Chinese New Year recently, and got a great spot on a street corner, where the parade takes a turn ...We had the firecrackers you toss at the ground (a real hit!) and other fun 'stuff'...
I learned that Graham and Julia will not get off a curb if a police officer announces that they may not! Here are some highlights. ... Graham, holding his million $$$ bill, handed out by a parade goer.

Last days of the Christmas spirit!

Okay, we're one of 'those' people who keep their trees up long after the date the city has claimed to pick up the trees out front...but hey, we have gorgeous trees, this year--3 indoor, one outside.
So, we parted with the indoor trees...but kept the Douglas Fir, about 15 feet high and adorned with lights--up until it fades. Being an outdoor tree, that'll give us all a chance to toast Christmas as long as possible!

Nothing more annoying than sitting down to dinner, and hearing your own voice recorded somewhere--in this case, by Julia, who has taken to my new iPhone (I need to put a lock on it!) and has taken so many photos, videos, etc...the 'voice' I heard at dinner? A video taken by Julia...not to be cold hearted, but I did have to delete many of the videos and photos...2 second videos, and shots of the floor.
All said, Julia has a good eye...here a couple of her 'clicks' (she also LOVES to turn the iPhone camera around to face her (a feature of iPhones)...it's pretty darn cute, but I'll spare you those up-close shots!) Julia's princess bed
