Apple picking and hay rides and pumpkins!
Today was a very busy day. Graham and Julia went apple picking, then went on a hayride that took them down a 'spooky' country road filled with Halloween decorations and many scarecrows!
Alas, Graham and Julia were more focused on the wheels of the John Deere tractor pulling the 'hay ride' ...
They were thrilled when they got to sit in the actual tractor, with Mariden holding them up! Graham was sure he could steer it if we would just cut him loose.
Graham played Hercules by picking up two pumpkins at the same time...ah, youth!

June 2009 River Series Concerts
Graham and Julia took in the River Series Orchestra in St. Mary's County, Maryland this summer. Late to post the photos, but the two enjoyed the music, the water, and being held -- and chased after -- by lots of friends. Here are a few snaps from this past summer's series.
Our dear friend, Jeff Silberschlag, conducts the River Series each summer and brings in musicians worldwide. Graham was fascinated with the large poster taken of Jeff. See for yourselves.

Graham's first haircut Sept 9, 2009
Once upon a time we worried he'd never grow hair. Now, with his little curls and fly away hair, we thought it was a good time for a haircut to prepare Graham for his first days at Playgroup.
He loved getting his haircut, all of the pretty women paying attention to him, the toys...and the novelty of it all. He did not cry until the final moment, maybe one of those "Hey!! Now I get it! You cut my curls!" moments...
He received a First Haircut Certificate, complete with some of his golden locks stapled to the certificate in a plastic bag.
Graham looks so handsome, as ever!

Summertime blues
We had a loving, wonderful stay in Michigan with family for 3 weeks...
Julia and Graham spent time with family, lots of cousins and uncles and aunts and of course, Gramma Grace. Not to mention the dogs Sam and Sheila, who patiently played with the babies every day.
One of the dogs dug holes on the beach that were Just Graham's Size...and he jumped in and out of the holes, then ran into the water (of course we were there to catch him), and started his routine all over again. A lot of sand later, he and Julia walked up the many many many steps up to the cottage.
Sheer bliss...photos to follow...
